Welcome to My Portfolio Page!
So, here we are. My Portfolio as is with all its ups and downs, wins and losses, expectations and disappointments.
I decided to share it with you because it feels right to me. It’s what I say, it’s what I do that makes the difference.
There are 3 sections to My Portfolio.
- The Foundation
- The Actual Portfolio
- The Monthly Commentary (issued every month end)
Click on the links above to go tot he respective section.
The foundation of the portfolio is described below.
Let’s understand the foundation of my portfolio.
Why am I building this portfolio? What is the purpose?
The purpose of this portfolio is to be a contributor to my financial freedom.
My risk profile
I have assessed myself as a Moderate to Aggressive risk taker.
As an aside, I have been known to take blind leaps in the past. Luckily, I survived for this day. I am now sobered by age and experience to take calculated risks.
My investment objective
In the following order –
- Growth with lower volatility.
- Generate superior returns than a broad market index.
The market index for performance comparison is Nifty 500 TRI.
I like to keep the bar high. 🙂
My investing strategy
I have kept it simple to follow and take action.
- Survival first, avoid big mistakes
- Be ready to strike for big wins
This means get my strategic asset allocation right.
Pick high quality investments.
Then use insights (hope to have some) to position the portfolio for maximum benefit.
I know, easy to say, difficult to do!
What is my portfolio Asset Allocation?
For my long term strategic asset allocation, I will have 70% equity and 30% fixed income plus cash in the portfolio.
While this will be my long term portfolio allocation, it might change based on my own insights based on assessment of the investment scenario.
Here’s the simple rule:
Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.
Let me say it again. This is my personal portfolio. When I share it here, I am doing it with a purpose to create a learning environment where you can watch and learn.
My portfolio is not an investment recommendation service.
