I am not sure if you know this but when I started my practise as an Investment Adviser in 2015, the first thing I did was start my blog. I focus on educating investors on money, finance, (most importantly) behaviour, with a focus on what NOT to do.
In fact, if someone were to make the effort to read through the articles since then (over 400 now), you are likely to find anything and everything that can help you learn and make better money and investing decisions. There are tools, calculators, templates, guides, detailed posts, etc. In short, if you want to be a DIY investor – there is everything to become one (without charge).
Since last year, the LightHouse Newsletter offers some of the insights in a more concise form.
And not just me, there are several helpful resources around the web to help you do that.
So, why the paid services?
Now, I also know that not everyone is ready for DIY – whatever be the reason. And in that case, you may look for someone to help you out on your journey to fulfil your goals financially by making better decisions with your savings and investments. Ensure that you stay away from the big mistakes that can jeopardise your and your family’s financial future.
In that spirit, I started offering my financial planning and investment advisory services. These services are custom and based on individual requirements. It is difficult to box them in standardised features and fee, I am hoping that the current structure of services and fees will help you pick the right one (in case you choose to go for them).
1. Financial Planning or Goal Based Planning
These are one time services which help you see a comprehensive view of your money and investments and map a path to your future financial milestones.
With this exercise, you can expect to get a clear understanding of where you stand today and what it will take to reach those goals.
Once the plan is done, you can then execute it yourself.
These one time services has 2 variants:
- Basic Financial Planning – fee starts at Rs. 25,000
- Comprehensive Planning – fee starts at Rs. 50,000
The difference is primarily in terms of the coverage of investment types and the time that could be spent during the process.

2. Ongoing Investment Advisory
If you are someone who needs ongoing support and guidance and/or consultation for plan, review, execution, handholding overall, then this is what is meant for you.
In short, once you have done the plan and now you need to ensure the there is someone who can ensure that you act on the plan as also come back again for any modifications, clarifications, discussions, regular reviews, any tactical changes to the portfolio, you can opt for the ongoing investment advisory.
Again, you can know all the details here.
