I did not write the LightHouse in Nov 2022. Tried but couldn’t. I was wondering why did I create this newsletter – one more newsletter. Who needs another?
The train of thoughts took me to the big question – why do I do what I do?
Here’s how it went…
Well, money, finance, investing – use any word – is a messy subject. Couple it with the emotions, it has the potential to bring out the best or the worst in us. With so much to handle in the daily life, it is easy to make mistakes here. There are thousands of ways in which you can be parted with your money.
I have seen that first hand over 17 years.
I want to help investors overcome their fear with the subject, understand the fundamentals and be able to make sensible investing choices.
More importantly, avoid the big, stupid mistakes. To stay away from greed or fear. Better, use them to your advantage.
Sometimes, a few basic reminders can help us take a step back and avoid huge pain.
Now, I am already doing that on my blog. So, why LightHouse?
Lighthouse allows to give the subject a structure, a ready reference for what needs to be done and what to avoid.
And in doing that establish a foundation to build wealth and be free.

This reflection on the purpose was very healthy. I am now determined more than ever.
Lighthouse for everyone
I took one more decision.
The LightHouse, just like the Unovest blog, will be available to anyone who wants to read it – open, free and not behind a paywall.
You can choose to support it if you wish but even without you can read and benefit from it.
So, here I am and I now bring to you LightHouse December 2022 Edition – fresh off the Tawa.
In this edition, we cover the following:
- State of the markets
- Asset Allocation based on our models
- Revisiting the Magic Formula Shortlist of stocks
- Fundtalk
- Fund Watchlist
- An experiment for you (working with volatility)
- Neti, Neti – Not this, Not that
—
I hope you find it useful.
As always I look forward to your bouquets and brickbats.
If you like it, do share it with others too.
